Agartala, 3rd September :  Students of Jubarajnagar Higher Secondary School in North Tripura staged a road blockade today, demanding urgent action to address the acute shortage of teachers and inadequate seating arrangements on campus.

According to sources, the school has been functioning without teachers in the Political Science and Philosophy departments for the past six months. Currently, only 12 teachers are managing the entire institution, leaving the Arts stream severely affected.

With examinations scheduled to begin on September 9, students expressed concern over their academic preparedness. “How can we perform well in exams if we don’t have teachers to guide us?” one student questioned during the protest.

The blockade disrupted traffic in the area until School Inspector Sumanta Pal arrived at the scene. He provided a written assurance that steps would be taken to recruit teachers and resolve other infrastructural issues promptly. Following the assurance, students withdrew the protest and normal traffic resumed.
