Charilam Block celebrates 64th Teachers’ Day with grand ceremony

Agartala, 6th September 2025:   The Charilam Block marked its 64th Teachers’ Day celebration with a vibrant ceremony held today at the Leela Deb Smriti Community Hall. Organized by the local school inspector, the event honored educators past and present for their contributions to society.

Dr. Abhijit Sarkar, Principal of Kamalpur Degree College; Khola Bhowmik, Chairperson of Chhaileng Panchayat Samiti; Abhijit Samajpati, OSD from the Education department; District Education Officer Kanika Debbarma; and event convenor Uttam Kumar Dey. Committee Chairman Manimoy Bhowmik and Education Standing Committee President Devi Bhattacharjee also joined the celebration.

Altogether, 14 retired teachers received formal felicitations, while headmasters from eight schools were honored for achieving 100% pass rates in the 2025 secondary exams. A special recognition was awarded to Principal Manimoy Bhowmik of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Chhaileng Higher Secondary School for exemplary performance in the 2025 academic year under the Central Board of Secondary Education.

Speaking at the event, convenor Uttam Kumar Dey emphasized the significance of celebrating Teachers’ Day beyond the traditional September 5th, calling it a moment of pride for educators. Guests reflected on the enduring role of teachers in shaping society and presented commemorative certificates and mementos.
