Assam Rifles and Tripura Police seize Heroin worth Rs 30 lakhs at Teliamura

Agartala, 11th September 2025:    In it’s continuing effort to curb drug trafficking and illegal activities in the region, Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Police officials seized a consignment of narcotics at Teliamura Railway Station yesterday.

Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team intercepted a woman on train and recovered 300 grams of heroin, cleverly concealed in 15 soap cases valued at approximately Rs 30 lakhs in the international market.

The arrested individual along with the seized narcotics has been handed over to the Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Assam Rifles working in close coordination with other enforcement agencies remains steadfast in its mission to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety, peace and security of the region.
