Agartala, 12th September 2025 :  In a major breakthrough, the intelligence wing of Tripura Police arrested a young man with a massive consignment of Yaba tablets valued at over Rs 25 lakh during a special operation in Churaibari area of North Tripura district on Friday.

Police sources identified the accused as Nazim Uddin, a resident of Ward No. 2 under Tarakpur Gram Panchayat in the Kurti–Kadamtala Assembly constituency.

“Acting on a tip-off, our team launched an operation near the railway station under Churaibari Police Station and intercepted Nazim Uddin. A thorough search led to the recovery of 10,000 Yaba tablets from his possession,” said a senior police official.

The seized contraband, police estimate, carries a black-market value of around ₹25 lakh. The arrest and seizure have created a stir in the locality, with residents voicing concern over the growing menace of narcotics trafficking in the region.

Confirming the development, the Officer-in-Charge of Churaibari Police Station said that an investigation has been launched to trace the larger network and identify other individuals linked to the racket. The accused will be produced before the court soon.
