Youth caught selling drugs at Radhanagar, handed over to Police by locals

Agartala, 12th September 2025 :   A youth was booked by local residents while allegedly attempting to sell narcotics near the Radhanagar Gymnasium here today. Members of the Radhamadhab Unnayan Sangha, Radhanagar caught the suspect red-handed and promptly handed him over to West Agartala Police Station authorities.

The accused has been identified as Asish Pal, a resident of Palpara in Aralia. Police recovered approximately 70 tablets of suspected contraband believed to be Cotra tablets from his possession. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is reported to be between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000.

A member of the Radhamadhab Unnayan Sangha Bhaskar Chakraborty stated, “We have been actively campaigning against drug abuse. Our goal is to build a drug-free environment in our society, and this action is part of that ongoing effort.”

Following the arrest, West Agartala Police Station staff has initiated an investigation and is interrogating the suspect to uncover any possible network or accomplices involved in the illegal trade.
