Agartala, 9th October 2025 :   The Tripura Board of Secondary Education has announced an increase in examination fees for both secondary and higher secondary levels across six categories.

The announcement was made today at a press conference by the Board President, Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury. The new fee structure will come into effect from tomorrow.

Dr. Choudhury stated that until now, the fee for five subjects at the secondary level was Rs 130, with an additional vocational fee of Rs 75, totaling Rs 205. Under the new system, the examination fee has been raised to Rs 300, while the vocational fee remains unchanged, making the total Rs 375.

At the higher secondary level, the previous examination fee was Rs 160, with a practical fee of Rs 75 per subject, totaling Rs 235. Now, the examination fee has been increased to Rs 400, and a practical fee of Rs 75 will be charged for each practical subject.

Registration fees have also been revised. For both secondary and higher secondary levels, the registration fee has been increased from Rs 110 to Rs 210.

The Board President mentioned that the fee hike applies to six categories: application fee, registration fee, practical fee, center fee, review fee, and examination fee. He explained that the revision aligns with rising costs and inflation.

The 2026 secondary and higher secondary examinations are scheduled to begin in the last week of February. Preparations are already underway, Dr. Choudhury added.

According to Board sources, practical exams will be conducted from November 15 to December 5, 2025, and examination forms will be distributed from January 6, 2026. Board Secretary Dulal De noted that compared to other states, the Tripura Board’s examination fees remain relatively low.
