Agartala, 10th October 2025 : In a significant seizure, the Agartala Railway Police apprehended a couple on Wednesday afternoon in possession of a large quantity of suspected ganja.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ajoy Kumar Paswan (25), son of Kapil Deb Paswan, and Renu Paswan (22), wife of Ajoy Kumar Paswan, both residents of English Lagar, Ward-12, Parbatta, Khagaria, Bihar.
The couple was detained at Platform No. 1 of Agartala Railway Station around 3 PM. During a search, police recovered two pitthu bags containing a total of 5.840 kg of suspected ganja, estimated to be worth approximately Rs 1 lakh in the black market.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, in Agartala GRPS (Case No. 2025GRP098). Further investigation is underway.
The Agartala Railway Police have urged the public to cooperate in reporting any suspicious drug-related activities to prevent the circulation of narcotics in the region.
