Agartala, 10th October 2025 :  Tripura police intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number TR01H4307 at the Bishramganj police station’s checkpoint on the Agartala-Udaipur road this evening. The vehicle was en route from Agartala to Sonamura and was found loaded with smartphones worth several lakhs of rupees.

Acting on a tip-off, the operation was led by Sepahijala district’s Additional Superintendent of Police Rajib Sutradhar. During the search, the driver failed to produce valid documents for the consignment. Preliminary investigation suggests the phones were being smuggled to Bangladesh.

Police have launched a full-scale inquiry into the incident. Locals reportedly place greater trust in senior district police officials, often bypassing local stations to report criminal activities directly.
