Agartala, 16th October 2025:  A routine health screening camp under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) has led to a rare and critical medical intervention in North Tripura. Held at the Jolebasa Anganwadi Centre (AWC) under the Jalabasa Primary Health Centre (PHC), the camp successfully identified an 11-month-old infant suffering from Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), enabling timely diagnosis and treatment.

The child Arohi Nath, daughter of Jitendra Nath and Sampa Nath was examined by Dr. Abhinav Dhar from the RBSK Panisagar medical team. It was Dr. Dhar’s meticulous clinical observation that flagged early signs of CHD, prompting swift medical action.

Following the diagnosis, the RBSK team promptly referred Arohi to Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Hospital in Agartala for advanced evaluation. On October 14, she underwent a free echocardiogram at IGM Hospital, which offers complimentary pediatric echo services every Tuesday—a provision that brought significant financial relief to her family.

Mr. and Mrs. Nath expressed heartfelt thanks to the RBSK Panisagar team, especially Dr. Dhar, for their timely intervention. “Had the screening not occurred when it did, and had Dr. Dhar not acted so swiftly, our daughter’s treatment might have been dangerously delayed,” they said.

The family praised the RBSK initiative as a blessing for children in remote areas, highlighting the importance of such public health programs in safeguarding young lives. They also commended Dr. Dhar’s sharp diagnostic acumen and the team’s efficient referral process, which played a pivotal role in ensuring their child received the care she needed without delay.
