Agartala, 17th October 2025: Pradesh Youth Congress President Neel Kamal Saha has formally written to the Health Secretary of Tripura, raising serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for 85 posts in the State Health Department.
In the letter, Saha stated that over 18,000 educated and skilled unemployed youth had applied for the advertised positions as of May 17. The Health Department has scheduled the written examinations for October 25 and 26. However, the Youth Congress claims the recruitment process violates the government’s own policy announced in 2018, which mandates the publication of the examination syllabus alongside the job advertisement and the use of OMR sheets for written tests.
Referring to the 2024 recruitment drive conducted under a 2021 notification, the Youth Congress alleged that the Health Department failed to publish the syllabus and conducted the exam on plain paper instead of OMR sheets — a move they described as a “massive fraud and irregularity.”
With similar concerns surfacing in the current recruitment cycle, the Youth Congress fears a repeat of past discrepancies. “The syllabus has not been published again, raising doubts about the transparency of the process,” the letter reads.
The Youth Congress has demanded the immediate withdrawal of the October exam notification and the issuance of a fresh one that includes the syllabus and ensures the use of OMR sheets. The organization warned that failure to comply would compel them to launch a “massive resistance movement” against the Health Department, advocating for fair and corruption-free recruitment for the state’s educated unemployed youth.
