Agartala, 18th October 2025:  An unidentified body was discovered early this morning lying outside the parcel counter of Agartala Railway Station, Badharghat triggering outrage among local residents and commuters. Eyewitnesses reported that the body remained unattended for over four hours, despite repeated alerts to both railway authorities and police.

Locals informed that the officials were informed promptly, but no immediate action was taken. “We kept notifying them, but they kept stalling,” said one commuter. The prolonged delay in retrieving the body led to visible frustration among bystanders, many of whom accused authorities of negligence.

Police later confirmed that the body has been sent to GB Hospital for post-mortem examination and that an investigation is underway. The identity of the deceased remains unknown.

Some residents suggested the incident may be linked to the frequent presence of homeless and substance-dependent individuals around the station premises. “This could be a tragic outcome of the unchecked influx of addicts and vagrants here,” said one local shopkeeper.
