Agartala, 18th October 2025: A dedicated session on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the North Eastern region was held today as part of the North East Education Conclave 2025, organized by Pragjyotishpur University, Guwahati.
The session chaired by Tripura’s Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman brought together key policymakers and education leaders including the Vice Chancellor of Pragjyotishpur University, the Director of the National Institute, the Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Assam’s Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu also joined the discussions, sharing key insights and policy suggestions to bolster NEP 2020’s implementation across the North East.
The deliberations centered on fostering inter-state collaboration, improving institutional capacity, and ensuring inclusive access to quality education. The participants emphasized that collective efforts and regional coordination are vital to realizing the vision of NEP 2020 and transforming the education landscape of the North East.
“The North East has immense potential to emerge as a model for holistic education reform under NEP 2020,” said Minister Kishor Barman, highlighting the importance of alignment between state and central initiatives.
