Massive Illegal Ganja Plantation Destroyed in Sepahijala

Agartala, 30th October 2025:  In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics cultivation, the Sepahijala District Police, along with officers, staff, and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel, conducted a special raid in the Debipur area under the jurisdiction of Madhupur Police Station.

The operation, carried out between 0830 hrs and 1210 hrs, targeted illegal ganja (cannabis) cultivation spread across various forest tilla lands in the region. During the raid, authorities destroyed approximately 70,000 premature ganja plants and saplings. Police officials confirmed that the drive was part of a sustained effort to curb the cultivation and distribution of illegal narcotics within the district. Further investigations are underway to identify those involved in the illicit activities.
