Agartala, 1st November 2025: Panic gripped the Dalura area of Khayerpur this morning after an auto-rickshaw suddenly caught fire near a local CNG station, triggering alarm among residents and passersby.
Locals informed that the smoke began emanating from the engine compartment while the vehicle was in motion. Within moments, flames engulfed the auto-rickshaw. Locals promptly alerted the fire department, which dispatched two fire engines to the scene. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control swiftly, but the vehicle was completely gutted by the time they arrived.
Thanks to the timely response of emergency personnel, a major accident was averted. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, preliminary assessments by fire officials suggest an electrical malfunction may have triggered the incident. Police have since visited the site and initiated an investigation.
