Agartala, 3rd November 2025:   The unchecked movement of battery-operated auto-rickshaws once again raised safety concerns after a head-on collision between two such vehicles left at least five people injured this morning in the Dhumdhuma area along the National Highway.

Locals informed that both e-rickshaws were speeding when one of them suddenly lost control and rammed into the other coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to overturn and land off the roadside.

Local residents rushed to the scene and helped rescue the injured, alerting the Sabroom fire brigade. Fire personnel promptly arrived and transported the victims to Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital.

Fire officials confirmed that treatment is underway, with four of the injured reported to be in critical condition.
