Agartala, 7th November 2025: Gomati district administration marked the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song “Vande Mataram” with a district-level celebration held today at Rajarshi Kalakshetra, Udaipur. The event commenced at 10 AM and was inaugurated by Finance, Planning Coordination, and Information Technology minister Pranajit Singha Roy.
Singha Roy was accompanied by MLAs Rampada Jamatia, Abhishek Debroy, and Jitendra Majumder; Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder; Gomati DM Rinku Lathar; and Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, among other guests.
In his address, Minister Pranajit Singha Roy highlighted the historical significance of “Vande Mataram” in India’s freedom movement and its enduring role as a symbol of national unity and inspiration. He urged the younger generation to embrace patriotism and uphold the cultural heritage of the nation. The district administration emphasized that the event aimed to instill a sense of national pride and cultural awareness among youth.
As part of the celebration, three sanitation workers from Udaipur Municipal Council and four individuals from the sports sector were honored with the “Vande Mataram” award. Additionally, winners of a quiz competition held across various categories were felicitated.
The program concluded with stirring patriotic songs and vibrant cultural performances that captivated the audience. The participation of students and teachers from various schools added to the event’s significance and spirit.
