Agartala, 7th November 2025: A man from Rajartilla under Kamalasagar constituency has lodged a formal complaint against his wife alleging theft and extramarital affairs following a troubled marriage. The complainant Manoranjan Das claims that his wife Sangita Sarkar left their home with valuable items including a mobile phone, cash and gold ornaments, and has since been residing at her parental home.

Das said that the couple had been married for over a year and a half after Sangita divorced her first husband from Bhuiyar Matha area. Initially, their relationship flourished with both families reportedly accepting the union. Das states that he provided all traditional symbols of marriage including shankha and sindoor and supported her financially.

However, tensions began to rise when Das allegedly found Sangita engaging in relationships with other men. Despite repeated efforts to reconcile and bring her back, Das claims she remained involved in these affairs and refused to return. He further alleges that her parents are aware of the situation but have not intervened.

Das now intends to file a case against Sangita Sarkar accusing her of betrayal and misappropriation of property. He expressed deep emotional distress but maintains that he still loves his wife and had hoped for reconciliation.

Residents have voiced worries over the social implications of such repeated marital disruptions, calling for greater awareness and support for affected families.

Local authorities are expected to investigate the matter following the formal complaint.
