Agartala, 7th November 2025: Dr. Biswendu Bhattacharjee, a senior journalist and noted environmental activist from Tripura, will represent India as a member of the Indian delegation at the 30th World Climate Conference, scheduled to be held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21.The United Nations has invited a total of eight journalists from India to cover the international conference, and Dr. Bhattacharjee will attend as a representative of the United News of India (UNI).
This year’s conference will focus on “International Cooperation to Tackle Climate Change Challenges,” bringing together representatives from nearly 200 countries to discuss strategies and policies aimed at addressing global climate issues.In addition to Belém, several sessions of the conference will also take place in different locations across France.
Alongside covering the event, Dr. Bhattacharjee is also scheduled to deliver a talk on citizen initiatives to combat climate change in Central Asia. Dr. Bhattacharjee had also been part of India’s delegation to the 29th World Climate Conference held in Azerbaijan last year. For over two decades, he has been actively engaged in environmental advocacy and journalism, particularly focusing on the northeastern region of India.
