Agartala, 11th November 2025:  Tripura’s Janjati Kalyan minister Bikash Debbarma launched a scathing attack on the CPIM, declaring that “Jitendra Chaudhury is a curse to the tribal community” and asserting that the party “will never return to power.”

Speaking to media personnel at BJP state headquarters here, minister Debbarma outlined a series of events planned to commemorate the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda on November 15.

Minister Bikash Debbarma highlighted the government’s commitment to tribal welfare, announcing a historic cultural program at Eklavya School where 1,200 performers will present the traditional Mamita dance. He emphasized the state’s progress in tribal education and development, including receiving the green signal for establishing a Tribal University and ongoing discussions about hostel infrastructure.

He also highlighted the role of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) under the current administration, stating, “People will speak in 2026. They will understand who truly worked for them.”

Debbarma accused the CPIM of exploiting tribal communities for 35 years, citing underdevelopment and political violence. “Only four Eklavya schools were built in three decades. They kept tribals suppressed and divided,” he said, referencing incidents of fratricidal conflict in Sabroom. He further claimed that CPIM candidates would not win from Scheduled Tribe constituencies, reiterating, “Jitendra Choudhury is a curse to tribals. CPIM will never return.”

BJP Janjati Morcha state general secretary Bipin Debbarma announced that various programs will be held in tribal areas, culminating in a grand rally in Khumulwng. A workshop has already been conducted at Kushabhau Bhavan, and social media campaigns began on November 9. Between November 13 and 15, district-level processions will feature participation from 20 tribal communities. The events will include hall meetings, open forums, rallies, and felicitation ceremonies honoring tribal achievers.

Schools across the state will present the life story of Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary. In Agartala, a rally will start from Umakanta Academy and conclude at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here on November 15.
