Agartala, 13th November 2025:  Three minors accused of various crimes have once again escaped from the government-run Juvenile Home in Narsingarh, north of Agartala. The trio had previously fled the same facility but were later caught and returned by the police.

According to sources in Narsingarh, the minors had been placed in the home following a court order for their involvement in a series of thefts at Agartala Railway Station. On Wednesday morning, they reportedly woke up early and escaped through the office of the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO), which was left vacant and unguarded.

This is not the first such incident. The same group had escaped in September but was subsequently rearrested and brought back to the facility.

Sources from the Juvenile Home attributed the latest escape to negligence on the part of the constables posted there. Initially, the constables were reluctant to even lodge a complaint with the Airport Police Station and did so only after being pressured by the home authorities. It was further alleged that the constables often neglect their duties, spending much of their time drinking instead of keeping watch.

Last night, the door to the minors’ room had been left open, allowing them to slip out easily. Despite being informed of the situation, higher police officials reportedly took no action against the negligent personnel.

Meanwhile, police have launched a search operation to locate and rearrest the escaped juveniles and return them to custody.
