Agartala, 18th November 2025 : Panic gripped the Bishalgarh area after reports of a fire at the local court spread rapidly, prompting police and fire service personnel to rush to the scene. However, upon arrival, officials discovered a very different situation.
Sources informed that the court’s night guard had been burning smoke coils to ward off mosquitoes. Mistaking the smoke for a fire, someone alerted the fire department, triggering a flurry of emergency response.
Fire service officials later expressed frustration, noting that such false alarms are frequent in Bishalgarh. “Every time we receive a call, we mobilize with full preparedness, only to find the information baseless,” one official remarked.
Authorities warned that repeated hoax calls not only disrupt operations but also delay responses to genuine emergencies. Public demand is growing for strict measures to curb the rising trend of fake emergency calls, which many fear could endanger lives during real crises.
