Agartala, 18th November 2025 :  Bishalgarh witnessed yet another theft incident, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of police night patrols. Late last night, a group of thieves broke into a fair price shop in Ratan Nagar by cutting through its tin roof and allegedly fled with a large quantity of ration supplies.

According to local sources, the shop owner discovered the break-in early this morning and immediately informed the police. Residents expressed frustration, noting that despite repeated assurances of increased patrolling in the area, such incidents continue to occur.

The shop owner claimed that although police are supposed to patrol the locality every night, no one seems to know when or how these patrols actually take place. He further alleged that the thieves escaped with nearly 150 kilograms of spices and 50 kilograms of sugar.

Locals pointed out that this is not the first such incident in the area, with several thefts reported in recent months. Community members have demanded stronger and more visible police action to restore confidence and ensure public safety.
