Agartala, 18th November 2025:   The Pradesh Congress today raised serious allegations against the central and state governments over widespread scams and frauds, claiming they undermine the nation’s economy and society.

Addressing a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan here, party spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty accused the Narendra Modi-led government of embedding ulterior political motives, deception, and corruption in every major initiative since assuming power in 2014.

He cited demonetization (Notebandi) and the push for cashless transactions under Digital India as prime examples of fraudulent policies. “The public is well aware of demonetization’s fallout—no black money was recovered, nor was terror funding curtailed, as promised,” Chakraborty said. He highlighted the hardships faced by millions queuing to exchange notes, including loss of lives, yet noted the government’s silence on these issues.

Chakraborty asserted that the BJP’s governance relies on such deceptions, with recent events serving as evidence of how the administration sustains itself through scams. The Pradesh Congress views this not as a partisan issue confined to one party or group, but as a profound challenge to India’s economic and social fabric, demanding broader accountability.
