Agartala, 19th November 2025:   A fresh incident of burglary has been reported in Nadiyapur village under Shanishchara Gram Panchayat, Ward No. 1, within the Bagbasa assembly constituency.

The house targeted belonged to Anubhav Roy, son of Nipu Roy, who has been residing there with his family for several years as tenants of local resident Biswajit Das. The Roy family’s ancestral home is located in Ward No. 4 of Anandabazar Gram Panchayat under Kanchanpur subdivision in Tripura.

Reportedly, the burglary took place yesterday around 9:30 pm. At the time, all members of the household had gone to attend an Ashtaprahar Harinam Sankirtan near the Bhairab temple at Chandpur Bazaar, leaving the house unattended.

Taking advantage of the situation, miscreants broke open the door of the residence, forced open the locker inside the almirah, and fled with valuables including one gold ring, six silver rings and Rs 30,000 in cash.

Upon returning from the religious event, Anubhav Roy and his family were shocked to find the break-in. Their cries for help drew neighbors to the spot. Police from Churaibari station arrived at the scene later that night, recorded a written complaint from Roy, and began an investigation into the incident.
