Agartala, 25th November 2025:    A new chapter of activity took place at MBB airport, Agartala this afternoon as Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jewel Oram arrived in Tripura. Officials from the state’s Tribal Welfare department were present well ahead of schedule to receive him. Emerging through the glass-paneled VIP gate, Oram was welcomed with a traditional risa by Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma.

According to officials, the minister’s visit centers on tribal development in the state, reviewing the progress of central projects, and outlining future possibilities. Sources indicate that this trip is not merely ceremonial. Oram is expected to directly inspect tribal-dominated areas across districts, with particular emphasis on evaluating projects related to education, healthcare, connectivity, and livelihood in the hill regions.

One of his key objectives is to gather detailed reports on how effectively central schemes are being implemented and to identify administrative bottlenecks. Beginning in Agartala, the minister will travel across multiple districts to conduct on-the-ground assessments.

Observers within the administration believe Oram’s visit could provide new direction for Tripura’s tribal development initiatives. The joint inspections with Minister Debbarma are expected to accelerate the pace of welfare projects, raising hopes among both officials and local communities.
