Agartala, 26th November 2025:  A significant high-level review meeting was held today in the calm and orderly atmosphere of the Circuit House in Unakoti district, chaired by Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram.

The meeting saw the presence of Tripura Government Ministers Bikas Debbarma and Tinku Roy, MLA Bhagaban Das, senior official Sudhangshu Das, and several top administrative officers from various departments.

From the very beginning, it became clear that this was not just a routine exchange of reports. Rather, it was a focused review aimed at formulating a realistic roadmap for the sustainable development of tribal-dominated regions. Discussions centered on the progress of various central and state government schemes in Unakoti district—how effectively they are being implemented, where progress needs to be accelerated, and which projects require renewed emphasis.

Officials presented ground-level assessments on sector-wise tribal development initiatives, including education, healthcare, drinking water, road connectivity, housing, and employment. While some regions have witnessed notable improvement in project implementation, field officials also highlighted certain bottlenecks and delays in specific areas.

During the meeting, Minister Jual Oram emphasized, “The development of tribal-dominated areas in Tripura is our priority. These regional reviews are crucial to monitor how central schemes are impacting people’s lives. We are continuously working to ensure that the initiatives of both the Central and State Governments reach the citizens effectively.” He further added that coordinated efforts between the Centre and the State will strengthen the developmental framework of tribal districts like Unakoti.

By the end of the discussion, it was decided that a special area-based monitoring cell would be set up to expedite project implementation in the coming days. Preliminary talks were also held on introducing new proposals, particularly in the sectors of education, health, and infrastructure.

The review meeting at Unakoti Circuit House ultimately strengthened the collaborative development vision of both the Central and State governments under one roof. Administrative circles view this as a crucial step forward in the ongoing journey of tribal development.
