Agartala, 27th November 2025: A fresh incident of theft has been reported at the Brindaban Senapati Para English Medium Junior Basic School in Amtali village, Bishramganj. Two gas cylinders used for cooking mid-day meals for children were stolen, sparking anger and concern among school authorities and local residents.
Reportedly, headmaster Arun Debbarma closed the school yesterday after serving the daily mid-day meal to students. However, when he arrived this morning, he found that the front grill and storeroom lock had been broken, and the gas cylinders were missing.
The theft comes just a day after two motorcycles were stolen in the same locality, leaving residents increasingly anxious about rising crime in the area.
Following the incident, the school authorities lodged a written complaint at Bishramganj police station. Parents and teachers have demanded swift recovery of the stolen cylinders and identification of the culprits, urging authorities to take strict legal action.
