Agartala, 29th November 2025:  In one of the largest anti-cannabis operations of the year, Bishalgarh Police, along with TSR and Border Guard forces, conducted a five-hour-long raid in Ramchhara under Gazaria GP on Saturday.

Under the leadership of OC Bijoy Das, police destroyed around 70,000 cannabis plants spread over 30 separate plots.

Farmers reportedly fled into nearby forests upon spotting the large police contingent. Officials stated that the drive is part of efforts to fulfil the state government’s goal of making Tripura drug-free.
