Agartala, 3rd December 2025: Employees of the ICAR office in Lembucherra have raised serious allegations against a contractual staff member Subhash Oriya and his wife Ruby Debbarma accusing the couple of creating chaos and disrupting the workplace.
According to multiple staff members, the office has virtually turned into the couple’s “personal domain,” where their alleged misconduct has left employees unable to perform their duties. Subhash, who currently oversees the accounts section despite being a contractual worker, is said to have been involved in repeated disputes with colleagues over the past year. His wife, Ruby, reportedly joined him in these confrontations, intensifying the unrest.
Today, the couple allegedly targeted a dedicated employee, Tanmoy Saha, accusing him of misbehaving with Ruby. However, sources claim the allegations were baseless, and investigations revealed no such incident had occurred. Employees believe the accusations were part of a larger plan by Subhash to bring his own associates into the office.
Reports suggest Subhash had earlier secured a contractual position for his sister-in-law, who later resigned following internal disputes. More recently, Ruby herself was inducted into the office, further fueling tensions. Staff members complain that the couple’s actions have turned the workplace into a hostile environment, with productivity suffering as a result.
The situation escalated on Wednesday evening when police from Lefunga station entered the office premises, underscoring the seriousness of the matter. Sources also allege that Subhash had previously misbehaved with a senior official, raising questions about how a contractual employee could muster such audacity.
Employees further allege that Subhash has been attempting to exert undue influence over female staff members, describing his conduct as “toxic” for any government institution. Despite the gravity of the allegations, police have not yet questioned either Subhash or Ruby. Officials have stated that a meeting will be held to address the issue.
