Agartala, 4th December 2025:   In a significant step toward empowering women residing in border regions, the Directorate of Skill Development, Tripura, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Land Port Authority of India. The agreement aims to expand skill development opportunities using the existing facilities at the Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Agartala.

The MoU was formally signed at the office of the Director of Skill Development.  Under this collaboration, multiple facilities at the Akhaura ICP — including a 30-seater conference hall, a smart classroom, meeting rooms, and other modern infrastructure — will be made available for women-centric training programs starting from the last week of December.
