Agartala, 13th December 2025: Allegations have surfaced against BJP leader Rati Ranjan Tripura, accusing him of defrauding people by promising government jobs in exchange for large sums of money. Reports claim he exploited the trust of tribal communities for years to carry out the alleged scam.
Rati Ranjan Tripura, a resident of Shuknacherra in Taibandal was once associated with the Tipra Motha before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. With close ties to several influential leaders of the ruling party, he reportedly gained the confidence of local people. Using that trust, he allegedly collected hefty amounts by assuring jobs under the names of senior BJP leaders.
The allegations came to light after Arun Noatia, a resident of Mohonbhog Chandul, publicly accused Tripura of taking Rs 55,000 from him to secure a job for his son Rakesh Noatia in the Food Department. Arun further claimed that an additional Rs 5,000 was charged for vehicle expenses.
Despite repeated assurances, the promised job never materialized. Arun alleged that when he demanded his money back, Tripura kept postponing the repayment with false promises. Left with no alternative, Arun approached the media to expose the matter.
Arun has appealed to the Chief Minister and the state administration to take strict legal action against the accused. Sources indicate that several victims are preparing to file a formal case against Tripura soon.
It is further alleged that Tripura amassed significant wealth through similar fraudulent activities. Facing public anger and damage to the BJP’s image, he reportedly rejoined the Tipra Motha recently. Victims fear that he may continue such corrupt practices under the banner of his new party.
As of now, Rati Ranjan Tripura has not issued any response to the allegations.
