MoUs with Patanjali Expected to accelerate state’s economic growth: CM

Agartala, 16th December 2025:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the government is striving to attract foreign investment and further enhance the profile of Tripura in the country and abroad.

Dr. Saha said this during an MoU signing ceremony held today, where agreements were signed between Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust and the Industries and Commerce Department and the Forest Department of the state government, in the presence of the Chief Minister.

These two MoUs were signed for the promotion of investment in diversified sectors and the development of forest- and agriculture-based value chains in the state.

On behalf of the Industries and Commerce Department, Director Dr. Deepak Kumar, and on behalf of the Forest Department, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests R.K. Samal, signed the two MoUs separately. On behalf of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, CEO and Managing Director Acharya Balakrishna signed the MoU.

The MoU signing ceremony, organized at the conference hall of the office of the Tripura Institution for Transformation, was attended by Minister of Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma, OSD to the Chief Minister Paramanand Sarkar Banerjee, senior officials of various concerned departments, and representatives of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust.

Later, Dr. Saha said that the state government has taken the initiative to build a ‘New Tripura’ by following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a ‘New India’.

“Our God-given state, rich in natural resources, has a lot of potential areas. The state government is continuously working to accelerate the development and progress of Tripura by utilizing these potential areas of development. The government is striving to attract foreign investment and further enhance the profile of Tripura in the country and abroad. The government is committed to the overall development of the state with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas,” he said.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that the signing of this MoU would further pave the way for the development of the state in the coming days.He said that Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust would invest about Rs 400 crore in the state and expressed the opinion that, with the help of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, Tripura could develop as an ‘organic state’ in the coming days.
