Agartala, 17th December 2025: Kamalpur witnessed a tragic accident on Monday after a chimney of the ABC Brick Industry suddenly collapsed, leaving three people dead and four others injured.
According to sources, the chimney fell unexpectedly, trapping several workers underneath. Three people died on the spot due to the impact, while four others sustained serious injuries. On receiving information about the incident, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the police rushed to the spot and immediately launched rescue and relief operations.
The injured were rescued from the debris and shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident through a post on social media. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. The Chief Minister also directed the administration to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured and to extend all possible assistance to the affected families.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the chimney collapse.
