Agartala, 18th December 2025: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has launched its annual fundraising campaign across the Sonamura subdivision. As in previous years, party workers are visiting households in an organized manner to collect contributions. Party sources said this year’s drive has received notable response and sympathy from the public.
Today, the campaign was conducted in Purba Nalchar village under the leadership of CPI(M) Sonamura divisional committee member and former Nalchar MLA Tapan Das. From morning until noon, workers divided into several groups went door-to-door, directly engaging with residents. The initiative reportedly drew significant enthusiasm among villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Tapan Das explained that the Communist Party traditionally relies on public contributions to sustain its organizational and political activities throughout the year. “In recent years, we faced difficulties in reaching people due to various complexities. But the current situation shows that people are standing beside us,” he said.
Das further noted that beyond financial support, residents are also sharing their personal and community concerns with the party, which he believes will play an important role in shaping future movements and programs.
The fundraising drive saw participation from Nalchar area secretary Pranab Debnath, subdivision committee members Bikash Das, Nikhil Debnath, Pranotosh Das, Sanjib Das, and many other party workers. Party leaders described the public enthusiasm surrounding the campaign as a highly positive sign in the present circumstances.
