Agartala, 18th December 2025: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young man who lost control of his scooter while attempting to save a stray dog. The incident took place yesterday around 8:30 pm in the Samatal Padmabil area under Khowai police station, casting a pall of grief over the locality.
Police sources informed that the victim identified as Rahul Deb was riding his scooter from Khowai towards Samatal Padmabil when a dog suddenly appeared on the road. In an effort to avoid hitting the animal, he swerved and lost control, leading to a fatal crash.
Local residents rushed to the spot and immediately took him to Khowai District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The shocking incident has plunged Samatal Padmabil and surrounding areas into mourning. Police from Khowai station reached the site soon after receiving the report and have initiated an investigation into the accident.
