Agartala, 18th December 2025: The Ganamukti Parishad (GMP) Udaipur Sub-Division Committee submitted a mass deputation to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Killa block, pressing for 11 local demands in the public interest.
The demands are: Development of the DC area, Daily wage of Rs 600 and 200 days of work under MGNREGA, Inclusion of the Kokborok language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, and Direct funding to the Autonomous District Council (ADC).
Prior to the deputation, a massive red-flag rally was organized at Killa Bazaar. The rally, led by GMP and CPI(M) leaders, was joined by CPIM Central Committee member Naresh Jamatia, Sub-Division Secretary Dilip Dutta, and other GMP leaders.
The rally marched through Killa Bazaar before culminating in a public meeting. Speakers included GMP leader Ananta Jamatia, TYF leader Rajendra Jamatia, CPI(M) leader Naresh Jamatia, and Amrit Sadhan Jamatia, who headed the seven-member deputation team.
During the meeting, leaders sharply criticized the state government for “false claims” on development and accused the ruling TIPRA Motha-led administration of playing a “hide-and-seek game” with the people.
