Sharing the decision on social media, Dr. Saha said, “It has been decided to close all schools (Govt/Govt Aided & Privately managed) from 6th January to 10th January, 2026 due to extreme cold weather conditions.”

The Chief Minister earlier assured that the government was closely monitoring the situation. He added, “I am personally overseeing the matter, as our government does not want anyone to face difficulties while attending school. We will make further decisions based on the situation. Yesterday, the temperature dropped to around 8 degrees Celsius. We are evaluating the conditions, and if necessary, schools—especially for primary students—will remain closed.”
