Agartala, 8th January 2026:  Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that initiatives are being taken to make hospitals in the state more people-friendly and modern. At the same time, the state government is working by identifying health services as a priority area.

Dr. Saha said this while inaugurating a blood donation camp at Agartala Government Nursing College today. The Chief Minister said that prevention is better than cure, and therefore the state government has identified health services as a priority sector.

“The current government is trying to strengthen the health system of Tripura by combining modern hospitals, advanced medical equipment, modern medical services, skilled medical staff, and doctors. Initiatives are being taken to make hospitals in the state more people-friendly and modern. Providing medical facilities to marginalized people is one of the goals of this government,” he said.

The Chief Minister stated that due to the positive thinking of the current government, it has been possible to establish a dental college in the state within a very short time. He also said that the state is currently moving forward in every field, including health, education, tourism, and communication.

“The current government is moving forward on the path of development by giving equal status to people of all castes and tribes. The people are also able to realize the overall development of the state today. This government is a people’s government and a development-oriented government,” said Dr. Saha. He expressed hope that Tripura will continue to move forward on the path of development with the cooperation of everyone.

The Chief Minister urged everyone to come forward to donate blood. He said that blood donation is not just a formal program—it is a great opportunity to practice humanity. Blood has no caste or religion, and there is no alternative to blood. By voluntarily donating blood, we not only save lives but also strengthen human values. Blood donation reminds us that humanity is the greatest religion.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Dipak Majumdar, former MLA Subal Bhowmik, GBP Hospital Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Kanak Chowdhury, social worker Shyamal Kumar Deb, and others.
