One-day national seminar on “Bharatiya Bhasha Parivar” at NIT Agartala on January 12

Agartala, 9th January 2026:  The Department of Management, Humanities & Social Sciences (MHSS), NIT Agartala, is organizing a One-Day National Seminar on “Bharatiya Bhasha Parivar.” The seminar is sponsored by Bharatiya Bhasa Samiti, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The inaugural session of the seminar is scheduled to be held in the Virtual Classroom of the Institute at 10 AM on January 12, 2026.

The inaugural session of the programme will be graced by distinguished guests: Prof. Niladri Sekhar Dash, Linguistics Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Prof. Shailendra Kumar Singh, Department of Linguistics, North-Eastern Hill, University, Shillong, Dr. Yumnam Oken Singh, Department of Basic Science & Humanities, College of Horticulture & Forestry Pasighat, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and Dr. Niranjan Uppoor, Department of Linguistics & Tribal Languages, Tripura University.

The seminar aims to promote awareness and meaningful discussion on India’s linguistic unification and cultural preservation. Many eminent speakers from reputed Institutions like NITs and other universities will be delivering lectures on India’s linguistic diversity during the programme. Students, research scholars, faculty members, and industry professionals from Tripura and other parts of India are invited to participate in the event.

Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Patra, Director, NIT Agartala, is the Chief Patron of the Seminar. Prof. (Dr.) T. K. Misra, Dean (R&C), and Prof. (Dr.) Debasis Neogi, Dean (FW), are the Patrons of the Seminar. Dr. Gyanabati Khuraijam, Associate Professor and Head, Department of MHSS, NIT Agartala, is the Local Coordinator (Chairperson) of the Seminar.
