Agartala, 9th January 2026:   Chandipur MLA and Social Education & Social Welfare minister Tinku Roy stood beside tea workers during the biting winter cold, sending out a message of compassion and solidarity. This morning around 8 am, he launched a winter relief programme across several tea estates under the Chandipur assembly constituency, including Manu Valley, Rangrung, Sarojini, and Golakpur.

As part of the initiative, blankets were distributed among tea workers, benefiting nearly one thousand families. Minister Roy personally visited the estates and handed over the blankets to workers, who expressed relief and joy at receiving the much-needed winter clothing.

The programme also saw the presence of Chandipur BJP Mandal president Pintu Ghosh along with several local party leaders and workers. They interacted with tea workers, inquiring about their well-being and daily struggles.

Speaking to the media personnel, Minister Roy said, “We all want our brothers and sisters in the tea gardens to live well and stay healthy. This small effort is aimed at easing their hardship during the winter. The government and the party will always stand by the tea workers. The state has already introduced several welfare schemes to improve their living standards, and more development initiatives will follow in the coming days.”

Local tea workers welcomed the gesture, praising the minister and his team for their humanitarian support and expressing gratitude for the assistance during the harsh season.
