Devastating fire destroys two homes at Daring village in Kamalpur

Agartala, 9th January 2026:   A massive fire broke out in Daring village under West Kuchai Nala Gram Panchayat, reducing two residential houses belonging to local resident Samir Das to ashes.

Reportedly, the incident took place late last night while a religious ceremony was underway at the house. Family members and relatives were engaged in the rituals when flames were suddenly noticed in one section of the building. Within moments, the fire spread rapidly, engulfing two rooms.

Despite efforts by villagers to douse the flames, both houses were completely gutted. Household furniture, daily essentials, and valuables were destroyed in the blaze.

Samir Das, the owner of the property, claimed that the fire caused damages worth over Rs 35 lakh. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Local administration has been informed and an inquiry into the incident is underway.
