Agartala, 9th January 2026: A 16-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by a train this morning in Durgarai Para, under Birchandra Manu.
The deceased has been identified as Deep Kumar Reang (16). According to family members, Deep had gone out for his usual morning walk. After returning from his family’s rubber plantation, he was walking along the railway track when he was suddenly hit by a passing train.
Locals rushed him to South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief over his family and the local community. Police have launched an investigation and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
