Agartala, 17th November 2026: Under the Indo-German (CREFLAT) Project of the Tripura Forest Department, a distribution ceremony was held on Saturday at Ambassa Town Hall. During the event, members of various Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Common Interest Groups (CIGs), and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) received cheques containing financial assistance aimed at supporting development in their respective fields.
In addition, 43 motorcycles were handed over to field-level staff of the Forest Department to strengthen grassroots operations.
The programme was inaugurated by Animesh Debbarma, Minister for Forests, Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Tripura. He was accompanied by Sushmita Das, District Sabhadhipati; Pratima Malakar, Chairperson of Ambassa Municipal Council; Hemali Debbarma, Chairperson of Panchayat Samiti; and R.K. Shyamal, PCCF, along with other dignitaries.
The Indo-German KfW Project is currently being implemented in Dhalai and North Tripura districts. Through this initiative, financial assistance amounting to approximately Rs 129 crore was distributed, alongside the allocation of 43 motorcycles.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Debbarma highlighted the ongoing developmental works under the project. He announced that three new parks will soon be established in Dhalai district. He also urged citizens to actively contribute to the preservation of greenery and environmental sustainability.
