Agartala, 4th February 2026 : According to the Meteorological Centre, Agartala, the state of Tripura experienced notable weather conditions during January 2026, marked by frequent fog, mild temperature variations, and dry weather across all districts.
The month recorded eight dense fog days, out of which six were classified as very dense fog predominantly occurring during the late-night to early-morning hours. These foggy conditions affected visibility across several parts of the state.
In terms of temperature, the lowest minimum temperature was observed at Agartala Airport, which dropped to 8.5°C on January 4, while Kailashahar recorded a minimum of 9.0°C on January 8. The average mean minimum temperatures stood at 12.4°C at Agartala Airport, which is 1.9°C above normal, and 11.8°C at Kailashahar, 1.2°C above normal.
On the warmer side, the **highest maximum temperature were recorded on January 28, reaching 29.6°C at Agartala Airport and 30.0°C at Kailashahar. The average mean maximum temperature during the month was 26.1°C at Agartala Airport (0.9°C above normal) and 26.5°C at Kailashahar, which was 0.2°C below normal.
Overall, dry weather conditions prevailed across all districts of Tripura throughout January 2026, with no significant rainfall reported during the period.
The weather patterns reflected a typical winter month for the region, characterized by foggy mornings, cool nights, and comfortable daytime temperatures.
