Agartala, 18th February 2026: A daring burglary at Belonia Barpathari Higher Secondary School has triggered shock and concern among locals after miscreants broke into the institution under the cover of darkness, vandalizing property and scattering important documents.
According to local sources, the intruders forced open three collapsible gates of the school building late at night before breaking into seven classrooms. Inside, they smashed locks on 17 cupboards, leaving papers and materials strewn across the floors. The exact items stolen remain unclear, with school authorities now preparing an inventory to assess the extent of losses.
Belonia police station staff rushed to the scene upon receiving information, while a forensic team collected samples from various spots to aid the investigation. Preliminary police assessments suggest the burglary was carefully planned.
The incident has sparked fear and anger among teachers and staff. They voiced serious concerns over security, stressing that such crimes at educational institutions raise troubling questions about safety in sensitive spaces.
