Agartala, 24th February 2026: The state gears up for the grand celebration of Tripura Police Week on February 25, recognizing the dedication, courage, and excellence of its law enforcement personnel. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, underscoring the importance of the occasion in honoring the state’s finest officers.
During the ceremony, 81 Tripura Police personnel will be awarded the prestigious DGP Commendation Disc for their outstanding service and commitment to maintaining law and order. Among the honorees are senior officials such as Rati Ranjan Debnath, DIG; Bijoy Debbarma, Superintendent of Sepahijala District; Namit Pathak, Superintendent of West District; Avinas Rai, Superintendent of North District; Rajib Sengupta, Commandant of the 15th Battalion; Piyamadhuri Majumder, Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences; and Rajdeep Deb, Superintendent of Police, Police Control. Additional SPs and SDPOs, including Dhruba Nath, Rajib Sutradhar, Vishal Kumar, Debaprasad Roy, and Samudra Debbarma, will also be recognized.
Special awards will be presented to exceptional personnel across various categories. Kumar Sunil Gupta has been named Best Clerical Staff from Tripura State Rifles, while Arpita Deb receives the same honor from the Tripura Police unit. The Best Investigator of 2025 award goes to Subhajit Deb, and Jayanta Karmakar has been selected as Policeman of the Year 2025.
The excellence of police stations and districts is also celebrated during the event. Sabroom Police Station in South District has been recognized for its innovative use of technology, while Kailashahar Police Station in Unakoti District stands out for its exemplary Beat System. Sonamura Police Station of Sepahijala District has been named Best Police Station of 2025. At the district level, North District has been recognized for the best Beat System, and the Tripura Crime Branch has been lauded for its technological adoption. Additionally, the 7th Battalion of TSR has been named Best TSR Battalion, and West Tripura District has been declared the Best District of 2025.
The Tripura Police Week not only honors individual achievements but also highlights the collective efforts of districts, battalions, and specialized units in enhancing law enforcement efficiency, leveraging technology, and maintaining public safety across the state.
