Woman’s iPhone Stolen; Trio Held After Investigation

Agartala, 1st March 2026:  A theft incident near the MBB Club area in Agartala has caused concern among local residents after an iPhone was reportedly stolen from a woman’s residence.

According to sources, the complainant, Uttara Nath, filed a written complaint at the East Agartala Police Station, alleging that her iPhone had been stolen from her home. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and immediately launched an investigation.

Speaking to the media, Additional Superintendent of Police Dhrubanath stated that based on specific inputs, officers conducted a swift operation and detained a suspect identified as Gopal Biswas from the Rangamatia area. The stolen iPhone was recovered from his possession.

During interrogation, police uncovered the involvement of two more individuals — Deep Saha and Deepak Das — who were subsequently arrested. All three accused will be taken into police remand for further questioning to determine whether they are connected to any other theft cases.

Police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken if necessary. While the incident initially created panic in the locality, residents have expressed satisfaction over the prompt response and swift action taken by the police.
