Bomb thrown at home of TMP worker

Agartala, 1st March 2026:   In the run-up to the upcoming TTAADC elections over the next two months, tensions in the hills have escalated. In a disturbing incident, a bomb was reportedly thrown at the residence of Tipra Motha party worker Mangal Debbarma in Jampuiijala.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday night between approximately 9:00 and 10:00 PM. The explosive device landed on a tree near the house, preventing any major damage or casualties. Fortunately, Mangal Debbarma narrowly escaped unharmed. Following the incident, local legislator Bishwajit Kalai visited Debbarma’s residence on Sunday to meet the family and inquire into the matter. Kalai strongly condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible. He also urged authorities to strengthen security in the area to prevent such incidents. The incident has caused considerable alarm and tension among residents of the region.
