Agartala, 10th March 2026: A high-level delegation from the North Eastern Council (NEC) recently visited Tripura to assess and strengthen the implementation of various development projects across the state.
During their visit, the NEC members conducted in-depth review meetings with officials from the National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) in Agartala. Key discussions centered on the progress of ongoing initiatives, ensuring coordination among implementing agencies, upholding quality standards, and meeting project timelines.
The delegation closely reviewed projects in education, tourism, and agriculture, engaging with Tripura government officials to streamline execution strategies and enhance outcomes.
In February, NEC allocated Rs 67.41 crore for projects across the North Eastern states, with Tripura receiving significant support for livelihood promotion in fisheries and advancements in science education. Major initiatives included boosting fish productivity, developing the fisheries value chain for sustainable livelihoods, and establishing a Science Park at Tripura’s Science Village to encourage scientific awareness, innovation, and practical learning among students and youth.
Beyond these sectors, NEC also extended support to initiatives focused on knowledge exchange, cultural preservation, and tourism development, aiming to foster holistic growth and regional development in Tripura.
