Agartala, 13th March 2026:   The Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Government of Tripura, organized a grand state-level celebration at Rabindra Bhawan to mark International Women’s Day. The event brought together distinguished officials, academicians, social workers, and advocates of women’s empowerment from across the state.

One of the highlights of the program was the felicitation of women for their contributions to society. Among them, a respected teacher from Hariananda English Medium H.S. School, Udaipur, Gomati district, was specially honored by the School Education Department and the Secondary Education Department. She received recognition as a President’s Awardee 2025, acknowledging her dedication, perseverance, and long-standing service in the field of education. Beyond her role as an educator, she has played a vital part in promoting women’s education and empowerment in Tripura.

Her achievements were celebrated not only at the state-level event but also at the district level. The District Education Office, Gomati, organized a separate felicitation program, where her relentless efforts to uplift students and her significant contributions to the education sector were widely praised.

The International Women’s Day celebration in Tripura underscored the strength, talent, and indispensable role of women in society. Such honors serve not only as recognition of individual success but also as inspiration for other women to pursue education, empowerment, and leadership.

Officials emphasized that initiatives like these are crucial in advancing women’s education and social development in the state. Continued recognition and encouragement, they noted, will help women in Tripura achieve greater success in education, social service, and beyond, contributing meaningfully to the progress of society.

This year’s celebration stands as a proud moment for Tripura’s women, symbolizing resilience, empowerment, and the enduring impact of women’s contributions to the state’s development.
